Acupuncture is one of the most phenomenal therapies to help with stress, anxiety, trauma, moodiness and more.

Acupuncture can treat the mind/spirit by easing our fight-or-flight responses when they are not needed. It has also been shown to increase dopamine and serotonin secretion, the “feel good” neurotransmitters. The Chinese ancients saw it as balancing all 5 parts of our spirit.

Acupuncture is used for mental wellbeing across several institutions, including the US army and detox centres. It is officially endorsed by Anxiety UK. And did you know that there is even an organisation called Acupuncturists Without Borders, which goes to places of crisis to help those whose lives fell apart due to war or natural disasters?

In addition to acupuncture, I also teach my patients QiGong and Havening techniques which become tools to use on their own in times of need. QiGong helps emotions not to get stuck in the body, as the positions it fosters give positive biofeedback to the brain. The Havening technique, is a neurology-based approach developed in the USA, which balances out the Limbic systems of the brain involved, among others, in trauma processing.
